Creative Team

The team at Warlingham Dance Studio are dedicated, hard-working and are highly motivated to help the students to achieve the best results. Everyone is highly qualified and experienced.

Katie Cox FDI AISTD (Principal)

Katie trained at Preston Dance College and in 1999 graduated with her ISTD Associates in Ballet, Tap, Modern and National dance.

After graduation Katie carried out contracts as a professional dancer for world renowned choreographers across the globe, appeared as a featured soloist for the premier season of P&O Cruise liner “Adonia” and also appeared on television choreographing routines for the presenters of BBC TV’s ‘Blue Peter’.

When she met her husband on board the Adonia, they decided to marry and Katie moved on from her performing career to achieve her lifetime ambition of starting and developing her own successful dance school.

Katie has over fifteen years teaching experience and personally teaches Ballet, Modern, Tap and Acrobatic Arts at Warlingham Dance Studio.

Lucie began her training at Dupont Dance Stage School in Leicester where she studied RAD Classical Ballet, Tap, Modern and Classical Greek. Lucie has achieved Advanced 2 qualifications in RAD Ballet and ISTD Tap and Modern. Lucie represented the school at dance festivals around the UK and also competed at the All England Dance Finals on a number of occasions.

With a particular interest in teaching, Lucie moved to London to study at the Royal Academy of Dance headquarters on the BA (Honours) in Ballet Education programme. Having graduated in 2012 as an RAD Registered Teacher and having completed the Licentiate of the Royal Academy of Dance (LRAD), Lucie has a consolidated knowledge of the RAD syllabus from Pre-Primary in Dance through to Advanced 2.

Liam Swattridge LISTD, DDE (Jazz, Modern, Tap, Musical Theatre)

Liam trained at Performers College in Essex graduating in July 2014 with a Diploma in Dance Theatre. Liam’s passion is teaching, and he holds both his DDI qualifications in Tap, Modern and Ballett, his DDE in Tap and Modern and Licentiate in Tap.

He has taken part in the IDO World Tap Championships as part of the England tap team, also known as Tap Attack in 2011 and 2013. Here he was lucky enough to gain 2nd place both years, in both the ‘Small Group’ and ‘Formation’ sections. He has also appeared on Sky 1’s ‘Got To Dance’ series 2 with Tap Attack. Liam has performed at Wembley in the FA Cup Final 2013 and appeared in the film ‘Cuban Fury’, released in 2014. His performance credits also include ‘Move It’ and the BBC Dance Proms.

Cassandra Seeger, RAD RTD PDTD  (Ballet)

Cassandra received her dance training on full scholarship at both the San Francisco Ballet School and Westside Academy of Dance in Los Angeles, USA. During a ten-year professional career, she enjoyed dancing principle and supporting roles with the Pittsburgh Ballet Theatre and Ballet Arizona in Phoenix. Before moving to London, she taught vocational ballet throughout the San Francisco Bay Area for ten years.

Cassandra moved to London with her family from San Francisco in 2010. She acquired her Professional Dancers’ Teaching Diploma in 2015 with the Royal Academy of Dance (RAD). Since then, she has continued to combine her knowledge of the various ballet styles in her teaching practice.

Tierney Lawlor (Contemporary, Ballet)

Tierney began training at the Lawlor School of Dance in Bournemouth, before gaining a place at Rambert School, where she is currently in her second year studying for a BA Hons Degree.

While at Lawlor School of Dance she attended associate programs such as London Senior Ballet, Central School of Ballet Pre Seniors and most recently, The Place’s Centre for Advanced Training. She also performed with Rambert’s Youth Company at venues such as Royal Festival Hall, Move It and The National Theatre’s Riverstage.

Tierney has choreographed many ballet, lyrical and contemporary solos as well as creating larger scale group dances for her peer group at Rambert.

Sharon Allen FISTD, Dip. (Tap,  Modern, Jazz, Singing)

Sharon trained at Italia Conti and Arts Educational London School, receiving a Diploma in Musical Theatre & Dance.

Sharon’s ten years spent performing as a Singer/Dancer includes; ‘Sweet Charity’ London Palladium, Brick Lane Music Hall, The Players Theatre, Dancer for ‘Simply Red’ at The Brit Awards amongst many other shows.

Sharon’s ten year teaching career includes positions held at many prestigious dance schools, including senior roles as ISTD co-ordinator and Teacher Training Programme co-ordinator, delivering the ISTD teacher training units and ISTD Tap & Modern classes for the full-time College students and part-time theatre school children.

Sharon is an approved ISTD DDE tutor, Fellowship member of the ISTD and Associated Board of The Royal Schools of Music Piano Grade 7.
